Dog Treat

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Kobe was extra happy yesterday night as he had lechon (roasted pig) for dinner.

You see, after we were done with the things scheduled for the day, my parents invited us to go to a town fiesta in a barangay in the town of Sta. Catalina, which is about an hour and 15 minutes by road. We left around 5:30 p.m., in time to get there around dinner time, starving and with an appetite to match. LOL. All in all, we went to 3 houses, but in the last 2 houses, we no longer had any room for more food, so we just asked for “bringhouse.” We were actually prepared for such as we had already brought storage containers for the food..hehe..typically Pinoy.

Kobe the mutt was happily wagging his tail when we arrived, and I noticed too that he had become “well-rounded,” meaning he was getting fat. I read it in a book once that one way to tell if your dog is overweight or obese is when you feel his ribs, and it is not easily distinguishable. He has been missing out on his regular walks as his leash was already worn out and might be cut off anytime. I guess it’s right time that we bought him another one from our dog supplies store.

I am sure he is missing our late afternoon walks in the boulevard already. :)

Trigonometric Applications

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

cb024304.jpg

I have been drawn to this game too way back in high school. I don’t know, maybe it was because of the physics and trigonometric applications of it all, or not…hehehe.

Kidding aside, I have come to love this game too, especially that many of our countrymen have gone to excel in this sport. I am talking about the likes of Efren “Bata” Reyes, Djanggo Bustamante, Alex Pagulayan, Ronnie Alcano, among others.

But did you know that even with this game, they already have made online versions? Yup, online billiards for everyone. With online billiard, anyone from anywhere (with an internet connection of course) gets to enjoy a broad range of games, including 8 ball, 9 ball pool, and snooker, while meeting new people from all over the world. What’s more, you can even participate in tournaments online, with features such as full 3-D environment, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

Wanna challenge your trigonometry? Play online billiards. :)

I feel like strangling somebody!

Published by andoyitok under Thinking out loud

Wheww!!

I am hoping to finish most of the tasks as early as possible as I have got a lot of things to attend to at the moment. I just came from the Barangay Hall of our place to report the crime that took place yesterday evening outside our apartment. It was as if all the life was sucked out of me yesterday, thinking of the nerve of the perpetrators of the crime. I just wish I could get my hands on them and strangle them with my bare hands!

You see, I came by our apartment around 8 p.m. yesterday to do some stuff online, while waiting for my brother Andrew to come home from a debut of a friend he attended. When he arrived at around 11:30 p.m., I then called him and my other brother Anthony to board our multicab, which was parked just beside the gate so that we could already go home as it was already late.

When I turned on the ignition, no response whatsoever. Just then, a wild thought entered my mind, and thinking out loud I said, “the battery has been stolen”. True enough, when I disembarked to check it out, it was. The criminals have been brazen enough to carry out things like this even as the place was not at all isolated. I say “criminals” because usually things like this are carried out not by a single person but he has to have a lookout, or someone on standby to make a quick getaway. I felt like strangling somebody at that point, or punching someone in the face. Grrrrrr! Having something stolen from you in a neutral place like in the city is one thing, but having it stolen right in front of your home is another thing. I kept cursing all throughout and I just wished I could get my hands on the necks of those who did this.

I have to go now as I have a scheduled blood workup in the hospital today, and I have to go to the police station to have this on their blotter. It’s mighty hard to concentrate on thinking happy thoughts on days like these….sigh..

Online Backgammon

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Anyone of you familiar with the game of Backgammon? Well, I checked and looked it up on Wikipedia and found this description.

Backgammon is a board game for two players in which the playing pieces are moved according to the roll of the dice. A player wins by removing all of his checkers from the board. It is a member of the tables family, one of the oldest classes of board games in the world.

Although luck plays an important role, there is a large scope for strategy. With each roll of the dice a player must choose from numerous options for moving his checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. Players may raise the stakes during the game. There is an established repertory of common tactics and occurrences.

Like chess, backgammon has been studied with great interest by computer scientists. Owing to this research, backgammon software has been developed capable of beating world-class human players.

A backgammon set consists of a board, two sets of 15 checkers, two pair of dice, a doubling cube, and dice cups.

Well, in addition to that, there is already backgammon online, meaning, it is already played over the internet. This online backgammon works the same way as in a traditional way you play it on a board. I heard they even have backgammon tournaments online.

Interested? Why not check it out. :)

Poker face

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

You’ve probably heard of that expression before. Well, a poker face is what you are supposed to have on, especially when you don’t have good poker odds, in order to bluff yourself out of trouble. However, putting on a poker face isn’t at all limited to poker alone.  :) That is just one of the few things I’ve learned from my badminton buddies, as they have been into playing poker during weekend nights after our regular badminton games at our usual hangout place.

Now I have also been intrigued by the game, more so because of the way you would have to use a poker calculator to find out the odds and probabilities of you winning a particular hand. After all, poker is not played purely on luck, but on one’s knowledge of probability too. A calculating game if you ask me. Knowing the odds, you could then formulate your own poker strategy. Having a card up your sleeve, in a manner of speaking. For any of you who have been curious about this game too, you can always check out poker tips online. Now, again, me being curious enough,  I tried checking out some online poker sites, and to give you an idea what it looks like to play online, the picture below might give you an idea.

Online casinos, anyone?

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Are you into casinos and other forms of entertainment. If so, why don’t you check out some online casinos out? Well, if you ask me, I am into sports and other stuff. I have been into one in Bacolod, just to satisfy my curiosity. An online casino works the same way as the real traditional ones, except that you can do it in the comfort of your home, granting that you have an internet connection of course. In the same way, it offers a variety of games, such as poker, etc. that you can play in. Now that would be a real time saver for those who want to play in a casino but never have the time to go to one.
