Priceless Beach Vacation

Published by borski under Blogging

Four more days to go and I’ll be welcoming May with open arms plus a big smile on my face because I will then be able to enjoy the formula below (or at least get to daydream about it *hearty laughter*).

May  =  Priceless Beach Vacation

Since April, I have been scouting for my Philippines summer getaway destination, much the same as the Outer Banks rentals, which offers vacationers, like me, not only very nice accommodations (fronting sunswept, natural beaches; with easy accessibility to the pool; with video games or even with basketball hoops) but also other events, activities, attractions and dining where my family or Nai and me get to experience and enjoy! Like the American island vacation destination of choice, there should be a showcase of events and activities, including, but not limited to, outdoor drama and free concerts under the stars at their open air amphitheaters for cultural arts lovers, art shows and exhibits for painting and sculpture enthusiasts, sports for sports aficionados who want to go hang gliding, attempt scuba diving, do pilates, or join triathlon; likewise, if we decide to bring Kobe with us, a dog show for him to join and meet other canine friends. It would definitely be a one great summer experience to remember!

Friday’s Feast

Published by borski under Tags and Meme

Friday's Feast

Appetizer

Name something you would categorize as weird.

.: Banana and ketchup. A friend of mine can’t eat the former without slathering the latter on it.

Soup

What color was the last piece of food you ate?

.: Red. A succulently sweet watery red pulp of watermelon. Fruit in Soup. Acceptable? :)

Salad

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy being alone?

.: I enjoy both the company of close friends and myself, so it’s got to be 5. A balance of both worlds.

Main Course

Fill in the blank: I will _________ vote for ___________ in _______.

.: I will surely vote for the Kevin/John tandem of the PBB Teens Edition Plus in the next eviction night.

Dessert

Describe your sleeping habits.

.: thanks to work toxicity, I have a perfectly erratic sleeping hours. Before I stumble to dream land, I either set the sleep timer of the TV to 30 minutes, close my eyes and try my best to relax in order to fall asleep or shut the TV off completely, engulfing myself to total darkness, and try my best to relax in order to fall asleep. :)

One more night to go

Published by andoyitok under Blogging, Family

Tomorrow, at 8 a.m., I would already be off to Dumaguete for my consecutive days off. Yay! I am already excited.

How fast 9 days go by. Why 9 days? (I don’t think I have posted it yet, but I think I made a draft with this somewhere in here..and I don’t know where it went..typically a sanguine..LOL) Well, that’s the cycle length of our duty. 9 days on, and then 6 days off. Our sked is really very convenient and when I think about it, I don’t think I would ever use up any of my allotted vacation leave credits. That’s a good thing, especially because we get to monetize 10 days of leave every year.

Anyway, I already packed with me my BIG badminton bag for travel tomorrow as I plan on playing all evenings of my day off, with Borski of course. Tomorrow would also be Kai and Siegfred’s (our badminton buddies) wedding, and from what I gleaned from their invitation, gold would be the motiff. I would have to find me a gold polo tomorrow as the wedding isn’t until 6 p.m. yet and I’d be in Dumaguete around 4 p.m. already. I think that’d be enough time for me to find one, and yes, the gift too. As Borski and I were chatting over Skype earlier, she also told me that she’d also be shopping for a gold dress for the wedding. So we’ll be doing that as soon as I arrive.

Earlier, I got a text message from Clyde (brother no. 3). I guess he has memorized my schedule too. This brother of mine usually gets teased by us because of his vanity when it comes to his skin. Whenever any of us has acne, he always recommends acne treatment that he gets from his dermatologist, which is also our aunt.

—————

..below is an excerpt of our text exchange…

Clyde: are you coming home tomorrow?

Nai: yup..why do you ask? are you cooking something special because I am coming home?

Clyde: you want?

Nai: Sure! as if you know how to cook! :p

Clyde: what you don’t know can’t hurt you…hehehe

Now I don’t know what to make of this. LOL.

What’s Hot?

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

The Wifi Hotspot is. :)

Remember my previous post about buying a wireless router? Well, I went ahead and got one yesterday after I got off work. I wanted it bad enough to withdraw money before going to the computer stall at SM Bacolod. Perhaps it was the thought of finally doing away with the “intestines” that were hanging from my laptop that sealed the decision of getting a wireless router. I figured having a wireless router would clear up the clutter in the room, as I do most of my online activities on my bed. The sight of the wires are already enough of an eyesore, not to mention it being so cumbersome, and there is always that danger of me tripping over them.

Boy oh boy was I excited to set it up. :) I got a D-link 4 port wireless router. I wasn’t able to set it up until around 10a.m. this morning, and the techno geek in me was hard at work. LOL. Deep down, I was also afraid of any bugs or glitches that would arise during the setting up. But lo and behold, everything went according to plan, and I had set it up in no time, thanks in part to its very user-friendly step-by-step setup guide. Yoohooo! I was proud of myself for that accomplishment. Even the downtime of our webhosting could not dampen my high spirits this morning. I lost no time in breaking the news to Borski and told her that I’d like to set up something like that when we get our own place.

Thinking of accessorizing our place, I am planning on getting home theater seating as well, for long movie marathons in the living room, and I have already pictured it in my mind. Much like this one. :)

Perhaps we can make use of the proceeds from on here to make this a reality. What say you, Borski? :)

Winning lottery number

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

I found this story on line about an Aussie who won the lottery, and then lost it, and then won it again. Confused?

Werner Reinhold bought the winning lottery number at a newsstand in Sydney, Australia. However, his winning lottery numbers did not print correctly, so he asked for another one, which turned out to be the winning lottery numbers.

However, when he came back to claim his purse, he discovered that the replacement lottery numbers were canceled and he was denied the prize. The total cash amount was at Australian$2 million. Whew! That is a lot of money lying on the balance of whether which ticket was the authentic one.

To cut the long story short, he sued the newsstand who sold him the ticket and was awarded A$2Million in damages, citing negligence, breach of contract by the newsstand and the state lottery company. Hence, he won, lost it, and then won it again. :)

Reading about this story has made me curious as to these online lotteries. One of such is Dream & Win at this site. The procedure is quite simple where you can join the simple draw and treat yourself to one of the many once-in-a-lifetime adventures. What’s more, you can choose your desired prize, and with the amazing odds, there is that large chance of our dreams coming true.

I am keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Leaving a Legacy

Published by borski under Blogging

Likely. Promising. Doable.

Last night felt peaceful, serene, the same yet oddly different from other nights. The feelings of difference came after the realization that we are all living in this world on borrowed time. I was thinking, “what if, like Ian’s friend’s brother, I die a sudden death at a young adult age?” and “what if, with new responsibilities, I die a sudden death with unfinished business?”. These are but a few of the questions that popped in my head last night. Regrettably, I realized yet again that if I cross to the other side of the river I will not be able to provide monetary benefit to my family and will not be able to specifically provide income to my family, burial, funeral and other final expenses because there’s just nothing to relinquish — at the moment. I want to leave in peace just as I strongly want to live in peace. I want that the basic necessities (e.g., food, clothing, shelter and secure education for my future children) and abstract entities (i.e., new hope, fresh courage, comfort and strength) will be available for my loved ones to carry on when I’m gone. Thus, my decision to look into a life insurance quote to know how much of my resources will be allocated now to ensure my family’s future and to choose the best life insurance policy appropriate for my needs, which has the most affordable rates and right offers amongst the best life insurance companies. Yes, I will be paying the premium starting this year and on the years to come for the privilege of a continuing living memory, a legacy.

I got owned

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

tekken.jpg

Sigh…

I used to be the undisputed Tekken king at home. That was before Andrew (brother no. 5) became glued to it, to the point of sleeping and taking his meals beside it (I am not kidding!). As some of you probably don’t know, I am a gaming addict too, may it be PC, online, or PlayStation (PS) games.

Now I can no longer trash talk with him. I am helpless as he shows me combo after combo of different characters he had learned, while I have just mastered just one character’s moves..just one..pitiful. LOL. He is even better at playing Paul Phoenix, the only character that I have mastered. Oh well, I guess I did realize that I must relinquish my crown at some point.

He is that good that I would bet on him. Any takers? :)

Pimp my ride

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Whenever Borski and I pass by cars that are outfitted (read: modified with accessories), I almost imagine myself salivating over these toys for the big boys. However, she never fails to keep me rooted and keep our priorities in mind where investments are concerned. First on our list would be a place of our own. That is perfectly practical because cars nowadays start depreciating as soon as they leave the showroom. But still you can’t blame me for wanting to have one of those.

When I travel to work, which usually takes around 1 and a half hours, I usually indulge myself in reveries of pimping my ride, should I get my wish of owning one of those. Part of my imaginary pimping work plan would include the mags, “boom boom” sounds, and perhaps the grille, much like the Chevy grille that I found online.

If dressing up Barbies works for girls, in the same way, this works for me.

I can only smile in anticipation. :)
