Looking in Retrospect

Published by andoyitok under Thinking out loud

Last Saturday, at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, I found myself seated at the lobby of the Sulo Hotel in Quezon City waiting for my mom to come out from her seminar in the 2nd floor.

As I sat there, I couldn’t help but wonder what it was I was doing during that same day exactly one year ago.

Ahh..and then I remembered. I was on duty at the control room of our geothermal facility in Northern Negros. There I was together with my supervisor, as we both sat on our high-back chairs, as laid back as laid back gets, exchanging funny stories and talking on just about anything and everything under the sun.

I just couldn’t help but shake my head thinking how I found myself so far away from home, and was much more amazed even, on how I was able to find my way to the seminar venue of my mom with just the aid of text message instructions on how to commute from our “guest house” from a friend of mine from Manila. What’s more, I was suffering from a bad case of LBM…hehehe..which i suspect came from the 2 pcs of toron that I gobbled the day before.

Actually, it took a lot of prodding and convincing from my mom to get me to meet her at the hotel that time as I was insisting that I didn’t want to leave our guest house, lest I tempt fate and find myself sweating profusely and desperately controlling nature’s course..hahaha.

As I sat there, I made a mental note to myself to blog about these thoughts..hence this entry.

And then a thought then occurred to me……

Where would I probably be this day next year? Ever given that a thought?

One thing’s for certain though, tomorrow, I’m gonna be leaving on the first flight to Dumaguete. I have my ticket in my hand. Wahooo! :)

Have a Kitkat

Published by andoyitok under Thinking out loud

Have a break!

My brain is just about drained right now. Hehe. Now I know how Borski feels on a typical work day. For the past week, I have been wrestling with budget files for next year’s operations. I haven’t blogged for quite a while so I guess in a way I am hoping this would be an avenue for stress relief for me. What with my Excel worksheet taking all of my analytical skills just to balance the entries. LOL.

On a positive note though, our meal expenses are reimbursed during our stay here so I’m getting used to take out food without worrying about the budget. Hehe. I’d never thought these TV ads that display the order hotlines would come in handy. These past days, especially with the bad weather, we have been consistently ordering out food. The other night was Pizza Hut menu, and last night we had a KFC menu. Imagine us waiting for the TV to flash us the ads because we didn’t know the hotline numbers, while the rain was pounding nonstop outside. LOL.

Thank God for takeout food!

For everyone else out there, have a KitKat. :)

As I was writing this, I was planning on uploading a KitKat pic..anyway, some error message cropped up whenever I tried doing this. So I gave up on trying to post a pic. Anyway, I hope this issue gets resolved soon. I already asked Tomtack’s help regarding this matter.

To Rhys/Tat: Pasensya na sa very few updates on here. Medyo busy lang gyud. Salamat kaayo for always dropping by. Hope that all is fine there sa inyo. Naa nay Made in Australia bai? hehehe. :)
