Puffy Clusters Above Caticlan Island

Published by borski under Photography

Puffy, cotton-like cumulus clouds in clusters above Caticlan, nearly 15 minutes away by pumpboat from the resort island Boracay.

This shot was taken when the 10AM flight Cebu Pacific aircraft was about to make a U-turn drop and eventually land to Caticlan five days after our wedding. Ian and I did not expect that the propellers will be visible in the picture when they were not through our naked eyes. :D

The stuff of Ian’s dream

Published by borski under Blogging

You’d be surprised how far a man’s desire goes, especially if it’s a long-standing dream.  You’d be awed by the loyalty given to that dream.  Yes, you’d be totally touched with the realization that your man, like a kid receiving his first chocolate bar when he was still 5, smiles deeply and with eyes twinkling while looking at his prized possession once achieved.

Whatever that is, depending on what’s their definitive attraction – sports, gears, art, travel – each man’s long-standing dream differs from one to the other.  For Ian, it’s his 4WD high performance yellow  truck. Truly a high quality vehicle, with awesome design and big wheels. No, not for human transportation yet. *wink*  It’s a remote controlled truck that will surely be an envy to all his friends and his friends’ son(s) who have the same attraction to RC toys.  After 4 long years of religiously visiting the same type of truck either at Lee Super Plaza’s toy section or at SM City’s Toy Kingdom, he was able to finally buy one at Manila (was it bought at MOA, Nai?) when he was assigned there for a month of training at EDC-Fort Bonifacio. :D Mind you, he hand-carried it all the way from Manila (on his lap the entire flight) to Gregorio’s residence!

Yep, toys for the big boys!

Poor Batchoy.  The short-haired 3-month-old dachshund puppy runs for his life every time Ian’s RC truck is on the floor.

Furniture Shopping

Published by borski under Blogging

Four days after our Boracay escapade, I was able to finally arrange the living room and set everything right.  Our leather chairs, now adorned with lovely cushions covered by metallic-type, embroidered cushion cases (gifts from Sheng and Yman), are arranged in U-shape facing the TV.   Our need now is to buy an affordable but sturdy china cabinet where we can place all the gifts we received.  This “need” sent me searching for discount furniture from local suppliers who custom-make products for home beautification.

The search extended online, which led me to Boyle’s Distinctive Furniture. They offer a collection containing a variety of discount dining room furniture that have elegant and functional designs,  and accessories to complete your home design project.  What’s more is that Boyle’s Furniture is giving away a $10,000 Dream Room Furniture Giveaway. What are you waiting for? Click the image that directly follows!

Need for order

Published by borski under Thinking out loud

This afternoon, Lalab, my sister-in-law, and I went to one of Dumaguete City’s local stores to buy a plate rack.  Ian and I need one for the dinnerware set we chose for our daily use. The other set is piled up together with the other gifts in room 2 (our designated storage room for the gifts) pending arrangement until we will be able to buy a cabinet.

We were able to find a light green-colored plastic plate rack with transparent cover. This plate rack considerably saves space and has a decorative effect at the same time (an unexpected plus! Yey!). This “find” is the root cause of all the cleaning that occurred tonight. Have you ever experienced the urge of cleaning the spot first where you’re going to place your new toy before actually placing it there?  Well, that’s exactly what I always do when I buy something new for use so that scrubbing the tiles at the top of the kitchen sink was performed first, followed by the washing and drying of the plates and other utensils, then the arranging of all the utensils in the plate rack, which eventually ended up to a neat and clean kitchen. Whew!

I think this is one of the tasks of what they called “nesting” or is it? It could be that my OC personality just went overdrive after seeing the house in disarray.  ;o)

In sickness and in health…

Published by andoyitok under Personal

We’ve just been married! :) Last October 11 to be exact.

In fact, we were so happy that Borski’s immediate family was there, complete, as well as aunts and uncle from Siquijor, Cebu, and Liloy. It was just too bad though that her Lola from her father’s side suddenly got down sick and was not able to come. I am sure she was looking forward to this day for months, after all, she was also here in Dumaguete when we got engaged.

We haven’t been able to post earlier, since you could just imagine how hectic and toxic it can become taking care of things leading up to the wedding, not to mention during the wedding proper itself.

Anyway, with regards to the title, I chose it because it seemed so apt, with both of us being down with the flu and not feeling well. Borski actually jokingly mentioned that we started our married life together being sick.

To which I replied, perhaps there is a reason why sickness comes before health in the marriage vows “..in sickness and in health…,” and not the other way around.

Anyway, we hope to get better soon, as we are leaving for Bora on the 15th…yahoo!!!

p.s. we hope to be able to post pics in here of the event.. :)

Post wedding getaway

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Now that our wedding is pretty much fast approaching (9 days more to go!!) we have gotten quite busy with last-minute preparations and dealing with all the nitty gritty details. I am actually really thankful that Borski had chosen a very good wedding coordinator as I can’t imagine the two of us actually doing all the work of setting up this event by ourselves, what with our busy work schedules. One thing I admire so much though is how organized Borski is. I dunno if I am doing good enough of a job of giving her a pat on the back.

Speaking of our budget..uummm..suffice to say that we have already accumulated a big overrun, as in, spell that with a capital “O”..lol..which leaves me wondering if we still have enough room on the budget for our honeymoon getaway. We were thinking of going to Palawan. That or going on honeymoon cruises. I remember someone telling me once before that if ever we are to dream, dream big. They are, after all, for free.

Now I’m wishing that our bank account can match the size of our dream… :)
