Can you please repeat the numbers again?
“194 lbs,” I reiterated.
Early this morning after taking his bath, I requested Ian to step on our personal weighing scale (a gift from Ray-mart and Edward) so I can check on his weight. Even though he raised both of his arms up in the effort of weighing lighter, the numbers are still the same. Oh my! He gained weight that fast!
We’ve been keeping track of his weight because we have to keep his weight on the normal body mass index side. With this achieved, Ian would be able to keep diabetes at bay, which is a common family historical condition.
During our afternoon walk, Ian suggested that we buy green tea so that he can help his body return back to its normal, even increase if possible, his metabolic rate by drinking green tea. It will not surprise me if there will come a time that he may want to try fat burners, too, but the exercise enthusiast in me kicked in and so I insisted that he not only start drinking up green tea but also couple it with him moving his body, sweating it out and burning more calorie by exercising even just 30 minutes daily (religiously, let me repeat) to rev up his metabolic engine. Of course, he should eat more protein, low-glycemic-index carbohydrates in the form of vegetables, most fruits and a modest amount of whole grains. No dieting; no more chronic yo-yo dieting because this just slows down metabolism some more. Just the right amount of food (read: eat moderately) and more exercise, especially now that we’re almost 30. Studies show that after age 30, metabolism slows down and drops about 0.5% per year.
For my part (hmmm), I would cut down the number of times I would be serving him sweet desserts (e.g., ice cream topped with cubed brownies, mango float) whenever he’s at home on his days off; chips or junk food won’t be present in our cupboard anymore, too. This would be my share of helping him trim down.

Guess who the subject is?
Sakspan! Heheh! This was during our wedding last October 11 at the Redemptorist Parish Church here in Dumaguete.

Just stringing those 2 two together for a catchy title to this post. Read on..hehehe
Slowly but surely, we are filling up our home for the next couple of years(?). I say that with a hint of uncertainty as we are currently staying on the 2nd unit of our apartment for the time being (rent-free LoL). My parents came up with this proposal when our wedding date was coming up so that we would hopefully have an easy transition when we finally needed to get a place of our own after the wedding.
Hopefully, this arrangement would help us save up a bit in preparation for us getting a place we could call our own in the future. I know that this is such a daunting task and I personally am dreading that time where I’d be taken out of my comfort zone. But hey, that is the next step, and whether I like it or not, that is how it is going to happen.
On a lighter note, Borski and I have listed a few things that we realized we still needed to get. This list includes, among others: a can opener, a laddle, another trash bin (for our bedroom), a turner (when we fry something, we use a fork as an improvised turner), cable connection for our TV (good thing we have internet connection, or else we’d be staring at each other the whole time *LoL*). Most of the department stores here in Dumaguete were closed for the Halloween holiday today, so we’d have to get those tomorrow or by Monday.
Happy Halloween you guys!

Now that Borski and I have funds on our Paypal account, sometimes I find myself browsing for some neat stuff to spend these on over the internet.
Not that I am one to splurge on things, on the contrary, I do find myself taking so long in deliberating whether to push through with a particular purchase or not. Say for example something that I am so passionate about, like sneakers/rubber shoes. I find it funny how I always come back to the same boutique/stall and always come back to the one item that has managed to catch my fancy. Sometimes, I come back around 5 times just to be able to say to myself that indeed I need to get my hands on those. LoL. That was the case with my Yellow Monster Truck *chuckles* hahaha!
Anyway, I found this neat site online that has a wide array of accessories to choose from. They offer a lot of options for promotional items, and free shipping on selected items. This is a great idea for companies who are planning on giveaways for their employees this Christmas, or even for individuals just looking for gift ideas. One thing in particular has caught my attention: this Lighted Colorchanging Usb Powered Mug Warmer.

Now ain’t that a thing of beauty?
Hope to get one this Christmas! LoL.

I remember when Borski mentioned to me a few months back that she was gonna be going shopping for a stroller for her nephew CT, the eldest son of her brother Charles and his wife Tere in Davao. I guess she was pretty much excited to be buying something for her very cute nephew, who wouldn’t right?
And so she went window shopping for strollers in the department stores of Dumaguete. Now, for anyone of you who has been to Dumaguete, you would know that there aren’t many places here to shop for those. Sure there’s the main stores like Lee Super Plaza and Cang’s but apart from that, there aren’t much to choose from. In the end, Borski decided to just send the money and let them pick for themselves in the malls around Davao City.
That was then. Had we known what we know now, we would’ve just browsed online to look for those on the net. Take the Maclaren stroller, for example.

It is such a neat tool in that it can hold many of the baby essentials that you would need like if you were taking your baby for a walk. It is lightweight at 14.2 lbs and even though it is smaller than most large sized strollers, it surely isn’t lacking in comfort and performance as it has front and rear wheel suspension. Now ain’t that a truly awesome gift for the little guy?

Now in my case what might that be? LoL.
To spare you from stressing your brain cells, haha! That would be my inability to keep my weight down. I guess I am too much of a muncher to ever get results from my exercise regimen (as if I had one..lol). When I am on the job, I rarely have time to sweat it out as I am on 12-hour shifts. So you couldn’t blame me for being such a sucker for my nap time.
How I wish I could then get my hands on an alli diet pill. I read up somewhere that it works wonders. I wonder if it’d work for me. LoL.
