Updating my status

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Of the many things that I have yet to take care of, I think my priority would have to be updating my status. I haven’t yet been able to update my status on my personal records in the company I work for. I have been arranging for someone from Bacolod to come pick up the update documents but somehow it hasn’t pushed through. I guess I will have to have it mailed via JRS so that it can be taken cared of at last. Part of the forms that I have updated include hospitalization and insurance coverage to already include my dependent/s. Personally, I am not that worried since I know that Borski has her own hospitalization and insurance coverage with her company too, unlike the case if she were unemployed and had to rely on being covered by mine. Anyway, I think it will be great if I can also compare life insurance so that I can also have an idea on the difference of the coverage. Why do I wanna do that, you ask me?  Well, a little bit more of knowledge never hurt anyone. :)

International connection

Published by andoyitok under Family, Work

Ever since my brother had left for Dubai, he has been ringing up the numbers in his fonebook, usually during dawn. All our badminton buddies have been asking me last night if I knew the number that kept appearing in their missed calls list usually during dawn time. LoL.

i-will-let-my-phone-ring

Between the Philippines and Dubai, there is a 4-hour differential between the time zones, with the Philippines being ahead by 4 hours. His missed calls usually are at 2AM, and I am thinking that this is usually the time he gets home from work. Whenever I’d still be awake, I make sure to text his roaming Smart number. I guess it is his way of coping with loneliness out there in the desert. I hope he can get a laptop soon, so that we can talk more on Skype.

Speaking of the economic crunch, I came across a badminton buddy of ours while I was travelling home to Dumaguete last Saturday and from him I learned that the economic crisis was very much being felt in Cebu with thousands of people losing their jobs and many companies closing shop.

economic-crisis

I admit I was quite oblivious to the whole situation thinking that what I heard on the news was more of the goings on in the international market, and that it was not that felt here. Boy was I wrong. Thinking of this, it made me think and be thankful that I still have a job. Thank you Lord.

Swivel TV stand

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

As far as home furnishings are concerned, Borski and I agreed last night that we’d get a microwave oven as our next project. I was also thinking of getting an LCD TV set for the bedroom as the one we have right now is in the living room and I have been thinking how much more comfortable it is to watch TV in the comfort of our own bed.

Anyway, as we were discussing this, what caught Borski’s attention was the markings on the floor under the TV stand in the living room. You see, whenever we would be having our meals, we would sometimes turn the TV stand to face the kitchen/dining area so that we could still watch TV while having our meals. The TV stand we have (which came free with the TV set by the way) is the fixed type, and in order for us to change the direction in which the TV is facing, we have to drag/slide the stand unto that direction, hence the markings on the floor. Wouldn’t it be much better to have the rotating swivel type tv stands? I was thinking more like this one. :)

Safe dieting

Published by andoyitok under Blogging, Health and Fitness

dietpillcover

With the emergence of numerous dieting pills in the market today, one can’t help but be confused among which of these are the most effective, not to mention the safest ones available. After all, what good would be an effective diet pill if it weren’t at all safe, right? I myself think I am in need of such diet pill as I am taking forever to shed pounds. LoL. If you ask me, I blame it on the very hectic schedule we have at work, the 12-hour shifts, making it virtually impossible for me to sweat it out while I am on site. This is precisely the reason why, everytime I get a chance to go home, I try to play badminton every day. So far, so good. I have been home since last Saturday, and I have played since Sunday (Saturday was for Valentines..hehe) and I intend to play until I leave for my next assignment on Saturday.

In choosing the right diet pills, I think one should consider a lot of factors, some of which would have to include:

  • safety of ingredients
  • weight-loss potential
  • consumer testimonials
  • appetite suppression, and lastly
  • money-back guarantee

Well, I put safety at the very top, it being the first and foremost consideration. I do hope I lose some pounds soon, as I am approaching the big three zero..hehe..if you know what I mean. :)

Cool Monitors

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

As I was browsing through the net yesterday searching for whatever it was we could spend our little bit of $$ accumulated through our hobby on the net, I came across these very cool monitors. I especially was drawn to it since at the time, what was going through my mind was how I missed playing online games. LoL. Hey don’t look at me like that. We all need to let out the kid in us every once in a while.

Anyway, I seemed to already forget my username and password on the online FPS game Warrock, but  I bet this game would look super cool on a 19″ LCD Rackmount monitor.

rockmount

I wonder if Isbot has already installed the game that we downloaded during the New Year’s break when I was in Davao? We painstakingly waited for the torrent downloader to finish downloading the executable file, only to have it finish on the day that I would leave for home. LoL.

Well, there is always a next time.

Project: House and Lot

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

Borski and I have been doing some long-term planning and we have decided that our next project would be our very own lot, and ultimately a house (fingers crossed). I guess this would overtake our previous project of purchasing our own car within the next 3 years. We have already made reservations with the local credit cooperative with a subdivision lot for 300 square meters. Actually, it is for 2 lots as the lots are at 150 sq. m. sizes.

We are a bit hyped up and at the same time uncertain as to what the future holds for us, but hey, isn’t that the beauty of living? Having someone along for the ride, though bumpy at times, but what is important is that you have that someone’s hand to hold on to whenever the sailing gets rough.

Already at this point, we could already imagine how our house would look like, the floor plan, the kitchen, the aluminum fence installation, among others. :) We had somehow learned years ago, during our brief stint with a multi-level marketing business we set up, that in order for us to be more driven to achieve our goals, we have to envision our dreams daily, give it life, texture, and even to the point that we could feel that dream. For in doing so, we wake up each day oblivious to life’s challenges, ready to brave the problems that lay before us.

LoL. Those sound like lines you would hear from Don Quijote himself. I have to remember to jot down and include in my “to-dos” for tomorrow the processing of requirements for a lot loan with either Pag-Ibig or our very own company lot loan package.

For now, it is time to rest. It is already 1AM.

Good morning guys! :)

Stuff lying around

Published by andoyitok under Blogging

As I completed my errands for the afternoon, which by the way included processing my passport requirements, driver’s license renewal, among others, I went back home planning on spending the rest of the afternoon answering mails and perhaps do a little bit of blogging as I hadn’t been able to blog much the past few weeks.

As soon as I reached home, I immediately pulled up a chair to get started. As I sat on the chair, I noticed that I somehow sat on something, thinking it was a piece of cloth perhaps. I immediately stood up and inspected what it was that I had sat upon, and to my astonishment, I came to realize that I had sat upon Borski’s brassiere. I somehow remember her putting it there early this morning. It is not typical of her to leave stuff around (unlike me..LoL). I guess she must have forgotten to keep it because she was so caught up with her newfound hobby – facebook role-playing games. It’s either that or it could be her way of  telling me that she wanted sexy bra sets for valentines. LoL.

Sleeping apparatus

Published by borski under Blogging

A few minutes from now, the clock will be striking a half hour past midnight. The hour coupled with the raw drizzing rain outside, I should be in dreamland already! How will I wake up bright and fresh early this morning for the ISO audit? Tsk.

Limitation on television time should be implemented on me. Better yet, control (this is better than totally eliminate *sob*) my exposure to TV medical dramas, such as House, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scrub. There’s nobody or nothing to be blamed for this growing unhealthy, nocturnal habit of mine but me. My loyal Samsung SlimFit TV has done nothing but broadcast my favourite shows! Its location now is at the living room on the first floor of our apartment. “Living room” and “bed room” are contrary terms when it comes to the location of a television (for television drama enthusiasts like me, at least).

I wonder when will I be able to return to my normal sleeping pattern. I wonder for the second time if this could be resolved by purchasing another TV unit, with this one to be placed in our bedroom. This just gave me a great idea! I want to have a high-definition TV this time around, a plasma/an LCD HDTV to be exact! Oh, I can’t wait to tell Ian the would-be new arrangement of our bedroom when we’ll have one.
