I am excited to have made a discovery, thanks to Google! Hehe. I have recently discovered how to play Mafia Wars on mobile, thanks to the Bolt Browser I have downloaded over the internet. Mafia Wars is one of the more popular game applications on the social networking site Facebook.

If any of you are interested, Bolt Browser can be downloaded here.

After hearing mass today, I went on and engaged in my favorite pastime in Manila – window shopping. LoL. And the object of my fancy — the 40″ LCD TV that has been quite on my radar this past few months, especially since we have already gotten our WD HD TV Media Player. Borski and I have quite agreed that a 40″ LCD TV would certainly be the logical partner for this gadget. We had that part figured out for ourselves.
The only thing we haven’t quite agreed on, is how best to display this gadget. I am thinking along the lines of “wall mount.” I guess we’ll have to check out some online wall mounts and select the most appropriate tv stand.

You never know, the LCD TV might just be under the Christmas tree. LoL.

“One World, One Dream”
The number 8 symbolizes wealth in Chinese, which is why the 2008 Summer Olympics will be celebrated in Beijing starting today until August 24, 2008. Today’s date not just reflects one 8 but three 8’s in a row. To add more oomph luck for good measure, the organizers added an extra eight by scheduling the opening ceremony at 8 p.m today. This means that, as of this writing, we have 30 minutes more to go to before the grand opening ceremony. Be updated with the news all about the Beijing Olympics, visit the Official Website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games August 8-24, 2008.
Thousands of couples have also planned and tied the knot today, an auspicious day for weddings (and births as well). In fact, one of my colleagues exchanged wedding vows at 4PM this afternoon. And as I was sleeping my ass off to my heart’s content, I missed her ceremony because I woke up at 5PM already and I decided not to go there anymore (I know she will understand). The wedding ceremony may be finished by then anyway.
I am sure that many banquet halls, hotels and gardens are flooding with guests at the moment. Lucky indeed for the owners!

Found this off of the Miami Herald.

Kira Kashie Brooks dreamed of becoming the next Miss USA.
But when she came up short on cash for the entry fee to the local pageant, the 22-year-old beauty didn’t look far to find a sponsor.
Her employer, the Coral Springs Police Department, unknowingly footed the bill for Brooks’ aspirations — along with nearly $5,000 of personal expenses the 5-foot-11 beauty put on her city credit card in 2006.
On Thursday, Brooks pleaded no contest to grand theft and was sentenced to three years’ probation — putting an end to her quest for fame and fortune.
You can read more of the story here.
Talk about trying so hard. I personally believe that each of us has to have his own goals in life, our own dreams, our own reason for living. I have read about it somewhere that a man without a goal in life, is someone who has no future. However, I guess this case would probably be classified as ‘having dreamt too much, and stupidly pursuing it.” She still has her future before her, for now, she has to learn her lesson. And I hope she does too.

Australian blogger Brian Gorrell has reached the celebrity status in the Philippines. From his mainstream media blog account, he now reaches a broader audience through national television. The Philippines’ top-rated network ABS-CBN sent Gigi Grande, Australian news bureau chief, to Australia to interview Gorell in his own sanctuary, Bethel Park.
The ABS-CBN interview with Brian Gorrell was aired last April 1, 2008 on TV Patrol, Bandila and a number of programs on ANC; his story was posted on ABS-CBN’s official website as well. Gorrell has HIV, seeks to retrieve the $70,000 he purportedly lost to DJ (his Filipino ex-lover) by deceit, owns Bethel Park and maintains a phenomenally popular blog. Read more about Gorrell here, here and here.
