Today was a rainy day coupled with gust of winds that can easily fold your umbrella upwards. Overhead was a sunless sky, muffled in clouds that were heavy with rain; underfoot, a watery road; blowing over it, a wind that felt as if it would take your skin off (or so at least that’s what Nai felt up in the mountain). All because of Frank (name of the storm), people living at the mountain cannot go to work because of either a blocked road due to a landslide (washed-out soils after a 24-hour continuous heavy downpour) or an overspill of water with tree branches, coconuts, and/or mud at the bridge.
Nai called me up this morning. Over the phone, I can hear the heavy whirring sound of the wiper of their company service. Sure it was put on the fastest speed so it can at least provide good visibility for their driver. He told me that hearing my voice first thing in the morning on this rainy and windy day started out his day right. Isn’t it sweet? The things that I began to feel after that were so nice and beautiful that I cannot write them. Later on that day, he informed me through SMS that his hard hat was thrown away by a strong, sudden gust of wind. He had to ran after it to get it. Tonight, we again talked over the phone. Nai, shivering with cold (he ran outside their living room to answer my call because the others were watching TV and he shied away from requesting to lower down the volume), told me about his day and how his co-workers were able to get to their respective offices/places of assignment despite the blocked road; indeed, I can barely hear his voice because of the wind at the background. So we ended our 5-minute call with good nights and take cares so he can be safely tucked in their staff house’s living room again, sheltered from the gustly winds. That’s it for now, I’m going to retire to bed.

The text messages sent to each other go back to as far as 5 months from today, still Janice and I were not able to successfully see each other face to face. Lo and behold! After 12 long years, I have finally seen my childhood bestfriend and on her most memorable day — her wedding day.
The wedding was the first of its kind that I’ve attended. First because it’s the first time I’ve attended a morning wedding (06:30 AM). Second, since my Dad and Mom are here in Dumaguete (they just arrived from Siquijor Island [one of their destinations of their summer break from Davao] last Thursday morning), I brought them along with me to Sibulan Church. Nothing compares to seeing the surprised facial expression of Auntie Nita, Janice’s mother and close as a real Aunt to me, when she saw us. “Nanimbaot ako balhibo” (My hairs are standing), she exclaimed while hugging me. She did not expect to see me, my mom and my dad on the occassion of her daughter’s wedding to Marlou Cuevas. But the most indescribable sensation was seeing Janice’s smile when she saw me there on her wedding; this topped with the the hugs and kisses for them and of course the inevitable handshakes to their guests as well.
Within an hour, I’ve learned two new things about her: she already has 2 lovely children (a boy and a girl) and is now teaching HRM at St. Paul University of Dumaguete. Even with the additions to her life and all those catch-me-up news about her, knowing that my best friend is still the same and has remained the same as before (albeit an improved one) is a welcome breather. This morning’s event was a much-needed reconnecting with my loved ones, even with myself. True, I can say a lot with words but seeing or being with someone makes the difference.

For any of you who have paid a visit recently, you may have noticed that we have added a lil’ bit of music on the site. Our aim was to soothe the visitors in the site and fortunately, we have been getting a lot of positive feedback on this. The playlist we were aiming for was one that would be fitting for a relaxing day at the beach where you could almost imagine leaving all your worries, be it from your job, or other similar sources of frustration, and just unwinding to the sound of the waves splashing.
Now when was the last time you spent your day like that? Anyway, the music player we placed in our sidebar was quite bigger than the alloted space so it doesn’t quite fit but anyway, it serves the purpose of getting some tunes on the site. I have already posted asking help in the forum on how to resize it so that it fits into the sidebar. Am still waiting word on that.
Also, we were thinking on adding up another category, sort of a technospeak trivia category as an avenue for expression of the engineer in me as well. Hehe..Borski, being the Medical technologist, has been outstanding in updating our Medical News Update section.
Watch out for that.

Yup. That pretty much sums it up. I had been watching TV this evening and my eyes would already involuntarily close on me. LOL. I call it ‘battery empty.’
We had a blast at the beach earlier today and whole badminton gang was there. The weather was somewhat uncooperative but we had a lot of fun nonetheless. The foodtrip was great as usual, especially the mouth watering ‘Brazo de Mercedes with ice cream.’ That was pretty much devoured by the gang. I mean literally. Haha. You don’t believe me? Well I’ll show you guys a photo on the next post to show you how the people went all greedy on that one.
For now, I have to call it a day.
Nai signing off. (hehehe..murag DJ)

Blessings take many forms.
Yup. We have been approved on another money-making opportunity on our blogging. We are talking about Smorty. Through Smorty, bloggers can get paid to blog. Through them, advertisers can get connected to bloggers. It is one of those win-win situations as bloggers get paid for blogging, while writing opinion posts, and the advertisers get links back to their site. It’s quite rewarding considering how religiously we update the content on our blog. Another thing we hadn’t quite counted on was how addictive blogging has become for us. We have made a lot of online friends while we blogged.
For bloggers like us, once more, this is an opportunity to get acquainted with various products as we write and blog about them.
Blog advertising has really grown by leaps and bounds. Personally, we have heard of blogger friends who have made a considerable amount of money through blog advertising. What’s more, through the internet, advertisers can have another way of reaching out to their target market which is unconfined by physical limitations. I remember a large billboard advertisement while traveling back to Bacolod. When we passed by the billboard, the effect of the ad was already lost on the viewer, whereas on the internet, the ad would have longer exposure. Meanwhile, bloggers, aside from sharing their thoughts on anything that catches their fancy, can also blog for money, which ain’t that bad at all. What’s more, their payout is on a weekly basis so it is quite convenient. To get paid while doing something you love is truly a bonus.

Uhmmm, we were actually (I mean personally I was..) looking and observing to see if anybody ever entertained the idea that our previous post on Taking the Plunge was some sort of April Fool’s day prank. After all, it was April 1st and people all over the world are known for the tradition.
Anyway, that wasn’t at all a prank and indeed we are tying the knot come October! I am so excited about this development. We have already informed Borski’s brothers and sisters-in-law through text as they were not around when we did the “pamanhikan.”
Anyway, I hope to be able to write an entirely different post on that. Talk about being nervous! Hahaha..

<Drumroll please>
Yeppers! We are happy to announce that we have been approved to get paid to blog by PPP. Whew! And we thought it was gonna be a hard process. We just actually submitted our blog for approval just yesterday and we got word early today that we were approved. So it was quite easy. What’s more, we would be paid to do something that we already enjoy doing — blogging :). For those of you who want to check it out more, check it out here: get paid to blog.

We actually got word of this opportunity from Borski’s bro and sis-in-law when we visited Davao City around August last year, and we jumped on the bandwagon immediately. We started on this project with that in mind. We wanted to be in on the blog network. One thing that we didn’t count on though was that blogging was addictive (yep! hehehe). And what’s more, we have made a lot of new online friends through this new hobby of ours. Through Payperpost, we hope to learn more about various products more as we write and blog about them, not to mention getting paid to do it. After all, we can’t have too much information right? I remember some quote about “..loving your job and never having to work another day in your life.”
Well, we absolutely enjoy blogging, and getting paid to do something that you love to do is like having your icing on your cake. Why don’t you check out their website here? So any of you guys out there who have a lot of spare time in your hands, why don’t you turn it into something productive and earn money while you blog.
Thank you Payperpost!
