However, NCIS is unique from CSI in that they have injected quite an abundant bit of humor and witty banter on the latter, which I find to be quite enjoyable and sometimes just what is needed to spice up the show, and gives a not-too-serious feel to it. It is also not lacking in substance, as they have also injected it with episodes that affords the viewer a glimpse into the lives of each of the characters. Personally, I think I know Special Agent Gibbs so much, that when I meet him in person, I feel like giving him a hug. LoL.

How I wish I could get something of a souvenir from the show, like military coins perhaps. We were addicted to the point that my younger sister, a nurse, wants to be a forensic pathologist. LoL. Now, wouldn’t that be something?

Working at home, I was able to watch the Shark-themed feature episodes of Nat Geo, or was it Discovery, while I was doing my work. I did get to enjoy a retro movie which starred Will Smith, Independence Day. I don’t know what it is about traditions on cigars and celebrating, but somehow, when speaking of cigars and celebrations, I always associate that with this movie.

Going back to the expected tropical cyclone issue, I have already stocked up on groceries, just so that I wouldn’t be in for surprises should the weather take a turn for the worse.

Sad to say,  I found the movie to be way below my expectations. After watching it, I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was that made the movie lacking, in my opinion. Perhaps it was the incoherence, or the “dead air” on their actions whenever they were gesturing, leading up to their bending of the elements, or the lack of acting talent., or the absence of humor, which was what got us hooked on the cartoon version. I couldn’t quite identify what the film was lacking. All I could think of was, I went home disappointed.

But then, when I watched it again, this time with Borski, she did give me some good insights on what I thought were the lacking elements on the film. For one, Borski asked me to put myself in the shoes of someone who hasn’t viewed the cartoon version, and consequently, didn’t have any expectations. Naturally, in the eyes of that person, if they did not super emphasize the bending, I might not be able to guess what it was they were doing. And as for the film’s storyline, the war between the nations was given more emphasis over the humor, since they had but more than 1 hour to tell the story of Book 1: Water.

Come to think of it, Borski had a point. Only when I tried considering her feedback did I view the movie on a different light, and came out hoping that they would make more room for humor on the next installment, especially so that it would be where my idol, the earth bending master would be introduced. =D

We were quite surprised to discover that there was a very large price discrepancy on this commodity. In Market2x where I frequent, the price for a 100-gram pack is PhP100, so 1 kilo would cost around PhP1000. However, at Taboan market, the price for 1 kilo of unsalted Danggit was just at PhP540, or almost 50% that of the price in Market-Market. I guess that would be because they still have to ship it out to Manila, but I don’t think it would make that much of a difference in the price. Anyway, from now on, if we get a chance to pass by Cebu, I would make sure to drop by and buy this Cebuano native product.

It was indeed a very relaxing 5-day vacation, and we got to indulge in the beach, foodtrip with Dad Tony’s homecooked meals, and a whole lot of snoozing. We hope to be back there in time for the new year’s celebration this year and hopefully spend the eve at Samal Island.

I remember being so excited when I first saw the trailer they released on the wide screen. Borski has been bugging me that we should watch this on 3-D, or else she would be mad at me. LoL. The last I heard, they’d be showing this in July. Watch out for it. =)

I hope I can download all past 4 seasons of that show, as I know it will make up for a nice bonding session in front of the TV during the upcoming Christmas season.

A cousing of mine is thinking of florida vacations, to the Walt Disney World. As for Borski and myself, I think we will setting our sights on something a lot closer, say Hongkong Disneyland?

Death Note follows the story of Light Yagami, an ace student who finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god named Ryuk. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals mysteriously begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective “L” to investigate, and he is soon hot on the trail of Light, who must now reevaluate his noble goal. Both Light and L believe themselves to be on the side of justice, and the two match wits as they attempt to prove which one of them is “good” and which one of them is “evil.”
