Australian blogger reaches a broader audience through TV

Published by borski at 2:52 pm under Entertainment

gorrell.jpg Australian blogger Brian Gorrell has reached the celebrity status in the Philippines. From his mainstream media blog account, he now reaches a broader audience through national television. The Philippines’ top-rated network ABS-CBN sent Gigi Grande, Australian news bureau chief, to Australia to interview Gorell in his own sanctuary, Bethel Park.

The ABS-CBN interview with Brian Gorrell was aired last April 1, 2008 on TV Patrol, Bandila and a number of programs on ANC; his story was posted on ABS-CBN’s official website as well. Gorrell has HIV, seeks to retrieve the $70,000 he purportedly lost to DJ (his Filipino ex-lover) by deceit, owns Bethel Park and maintains a phenomenally popular blog. Read more about Gorrell here, here and here.

the first few posts on brian’s blog were intriguing.. but really, I’ve gotten quite tired of it now. there’s just too much complaints and pleas and dirty skeletons out of the closet. I dunno.. not my thing. I’m one of the people who abandon scandals after 13 days. and I’d rather read about something nice.

but then again, maybe I just don’t care because I don’t hear about it every day on TV or on the radio. I’m not well-informed. I just hope Brian gets what he wants/needs so everyone hooked on the issue can get on with their lives.
