Before midnight falls..

Published by andoyitok at 11:55 pm under Happy Thoughts

Ummm..spent the last hour bloghopping..and then checked out the site if Borski kept her word on posting tonight. Hehehe..to find out that she must’ve slept on me once again. Just wrapped up our dota game with my bro’s classmates, and as usual, I sucked. Cge nalang ko ani ug kantyawan pati sa akoang mga manghod. I guess I just don’t have an aptitude for the game..hehe..

Anyway, Borski and I spent the day early with a mass first at Redemptorist after which we went marketing. The menu for lunch: nilat-ang monggos nga sinubakan ug karne. Yummy! hehe.. (i remember asking Borski sometime during the mass what the english translation for that was, already thinking of posting about it on the blog tonight..hehe..I din’t quite get her answer on that one..so…). Needless to say, I had a hard time keeping to my diet. LOL.

Anyway, whenever we go to mass, the kids from the neighboring houses always tag along and hear mass with us. My mom, who is a teacher in a university here, along with co-teachers and volunteer students have been doing catechism on the community kids since last year I think, and this is one of the tangible results of their efforts. It really is heartwarming thinking of the impact they are having on these kids. These same kids also help out at home during those times where there are special occasions in the house. I remember last year during my Lolo’s birthday, which was last Dec. 30th, we held a special birthday celebration, a kid’s party for them and my grandpa dressed up as Santa distributing goodies to them. My bro Ray has pics of that event, which I could hopefully post in here one of these days.

After the mass, the kids were still hanging by the house when we got home and I learned from Manang Edith (our house help) that during times like this, it meant that these kids were hungry and it was up for us to read between the lines :). So we prepared what little left was in the ref for them, and you could see in their eyes the delight in being served breakfast like this. Not having breakfast like this meant that usually they went home with a hungry stomach and not sure if there was one at their respective homes. We capped breakfast by splitting the Toblerone chocolate that Borski’s aunt from Germany gave me yesterday. I just hope we could’ve prepared a lil’ something extra for them that time. I was thinking had I known they would be having breakfast at home, we could have bought hotdogs, etc. What we had from the market was only for lunch as we were not thinking of our menu for breakfast. Anyway, we agreed with Nang Edith that the next Sunday I am home, we would do it.

It’s almost midnight now..so..I’m gonna post this now..or else I’m gonna have to change the title..hehehe..

Hi! My apologies. I did slept on you again. I blamed it on my comfortable bed… always enticing me to rest my peepers. :-)
