Beating Floyd Mayweather Jr.
I am a self -confessed Manny Pacquiao fan, and a die-hard one at that. It figures, right? After all, I am a Filipino. Aside from that though, I do believe that there is more to my rooting for him than just my being a fellow countryman of his. I, together with many others, believe that Manny embodies the many traits that has allowed him to carry on being Boxing’s new poster boy. His exciting style of fighting has earned him a following of fans from all over the world.
Just this afternoon, I watched a downloaded clip of Mayweather’s bout with Ricky Hatton in 2007. In contrast with Pacquiao’s brand of play, I do think that Pretty Boy Floyd’s style is somewhat boring at times, although one would have to acknowledge the superb defense that he possesses. Unlike Pacman who throws countless combinations, he pot shots and then ties up his opponents, making for perfect recipe for a boring fight, plus he runs and runs and runs. I came across this article by Marv Dumon, wherein he enumerates the things Manny has to do to beat Floyd.
One pic he had on there surely amused me. I do hope Manny doesn’t have to resort to this in order to make Floyd fight him toe to toe. LoL.

Floyd will win and outbox manny…
That remains to be seen my friend. First things first, Floyd has to accept the fight and not do duck Manny, something a lot of fans out there think that he is very good at doing.
I have seen Mayweather fight many times and believe he is a great boxer whose great conditioning, skills, and hand speed make him, arguably, the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world right now. what do you say?
He is a great boxer, where skills are concerned. But in order to be up there among the cream of the crop, you have to lay your cards on the table too, and back up your claims.
Time and again, Floyd has shown the boxing community that he’d rather duck fighters just so he could preserve his undefeated record.
Until he proves otherwise, I believe the best pound-for-pound belongs to Manny right now.
I’d like to see him prove me wrong though.
