Looking in Retrospect
Last Saturday, at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, I found myself seated at the lobby of the Sulo Hotel in Quezon City waiting for my mom to come out from her seminar in the 2nd floor.
As I sat there, I couldn’t help but wonder what it was I was doing during that same day exactly one year ago.
Ahh..and then I remembered. I was on duty at the control room of our geothermal facility in Northern Negros. There I was together with my supervisor, as we both sat on our high-back chairs, as laid back as laid back gets, exchanging funny stories and talking on just about anything and everything under the sun.
I just couldn’t help but shake my head thinking how I found myself so far away from home, and was much more amazed even, on how I was able to find my way to the seminar venue of my mom with just the aid of text message instructions on how to commute from our “guest house” from a friend of mine from Manila. What’s more, I was suffering from a bad case of LBM…hehehe..which i suspect came from the 2 pcs of toron that I gobbled the day before.
Actually, it took a lot of prodding and convincing from my mom to get me to meet her at the hotel that time as I was insisting that I didn’t want to leave our guest house, lest I tempt fate and find myself sweating profusely and desperately controlling nature’s course..hahaha.
As I sat there, I made a mental note to myself to blog about these thoughts..hence this entry.
And then a thought then occurred to me……
Where would I probably be this day next year? Ever given that a thought?
One thing’s for certain though, tomorrow, I’m gonna be leaving on the first flight to Dumaguete. I have my ticket in my hand. Wahooo!
